Small steps.
In aggregate.
Over time.
We founded Honeycomb Peak to partner with other entrepreneurs to build companies where people can do their best work to create a better future for generations to come.

Our founder, Eric, served in the United States Air Force after college for over five years as an aircraft maintenance officer. After being put in charge of his first team, he quickly realized that change wouldn't happen with a big proclamation at a roll call - real change would actually happen in the nitty-gritty of the day to day with different small decisions, different conversations, different expectations, all added up over time.
Likewise with building a business: trust with customers and employees isn't built overnight, but slowly, step-by-step, over time.
And likewise when it comes time to consider a transition opportunity and building a relationship with a potential partner in that process: slowly, step-by-step, over time.
Who We Are
Eric Deng, Founder
Eric started his career as an aircraft maintenance officer in the United States Air Force. While on active duty, Eric led 100 to 500 person teams in the safe and efficient performance of aircraft maintenance. Moving from unit to unit gave Eric an education in how teams reacted to different styles of leadership - which helped him develop his own leadership philosophy while reinforcing the notion that leadership and people matter.

After five years in the Air Force, Eric joined an edtech startup to gain experience working side-by-side with entrepreneurs in a small, resource constrained environment tackling big challenges.

Eric enjoys hiking, cooking, and skiing, as well as mentoring veterans through the college admissions process in his free time.

Eric holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Political Science from the University of Southern California.
Our Values
Always Learning
Everyone has a story, perspective, or insight we can learn from: we're relentlessly curious to deepen our understanding and make things better.
Forthright
With you, and with ourselves: Eric saw that a lack of communication and clear expectations was a sure path to a frustrated team.
Deliberate and Driven
Thoughtful in our actions and decisions, yet determined and persistent in finding solutions to problems and increasing value.
